The Loop is an attempt to document and galvanise community participation in Egerton Park, the residential park in Birkenhead where I live.
‘The Loop’ comes from the shape of the road built in the 1850’s to be reminiscent of a country walk, with no straight lines and always a new corner to turn. I’ve attempted to use layout elements and textures from 3D scans of nature around the park to try and recreate this sense of haphazard discovery while still being legible enough for the diverse community of the park.
The fragmented elements may only be recognised by the park’s residents due to their specific familiarity with these environmental shards.
